i'd rather not. the sun is so strong there and i don't wanna get burnt by it.

我可不想去。那里的太阳那么毒，我怕晒黑了。

john：

you can put on sunscreen.

可以涂防晒霜啊。

lily：

i did, but it didn't work. i got a tan after i came back from the seaside last time.

涂了，根本就不管用。上次去海边玩，回来就晒黑了。

john：

maybe the spf index of your sunscreen is too low, you can try a higher one.

你的防晒霜防晒系数肯定不够，你涂高点儿的。

lily：

the one i applied last time was spf 40. isn't that enough?

我上次用的就是spf40的，还不高啊？

Paula: Montreal Brad: When did you come to Los Angeles? Paula: We moved here when I was fourteen. Brad: Did you go to school here? Paula:Well,I went to high school here,but I went to college in Texas. Brad: Did you get a job right after graduation? and then I lived in France. Brad: When was that? Paula: Let's see ... That was about six years ago. Brad: I bet that was interesting. What did you do there? Paula: I studied French. Anyway ... that's enough about me. How about you? Were you born in L.A.?
